A few weeks ago we were invited to a special ceremony in Baklan village celebrating the end of the Great War. All the students carried flowers and walked to the small World War II memorial in the village. They had a short program and students recited some things and sang. All the students placed their flowers by the memorial at the end. A few students were interested in the Americans that were there. Justin and Joseph "talked" to some boys. We were invited to walk to their school and see it.

| These girls were so sweet and kind to Sophie, Saylor and Sage. They made dandelion crowns for my girls. My camera was acting funny, so I couldn't get pictures of all the girls in the grass/weeds making crowns. The boys did boy things - climbed trees, raced, played with bugs. Sasha (in the blue vest), Jeff's interpreter, came with us so we would be able to talk to them. Jeff went to check on one of his ranches while we were at the school. |

| A few weeks later we saw some of the same girls while we were going through Baklan village. The girl in the middle, Marsha, remembered all of our names. (The littlest girl was afraid of the big guy in the cowboy hat.) These girls are so sweet. They aren't giggly around us like other Russian girls can be when we come to their village. |

We hope all is well with you --- Elko 5th Ward is booming. Remember Bishop Grow had us praying for more families to move into the ward. We are surely reaping the blessing from those prayers. So many new families all the time - -it is great!
